It includes bathymetry data of the ocean floor compiled from GEBCO (General Bathymetric Charts of the Oceans) data sets. The bright blue colour represents shallower water or continental shelves making it easy to see that Australia sits on the Indo-Australian Plate. There is so much detail in this image that a great many natural features can be seen. For example the world heritage listed Great Barrier Reef and the world's largest monolith, Uluru (Ayers Rock), can easily be indentified.
